２ちゃんねる正体不明のDDos攻撃を受ける
昨日2ch全体が落ちてからほぼ一日経ったわけですが、運営のFOX氏によると陥落の原因は、よそから攻撃を受けていたためだそうです。

ちなみに「500 Meg+ per second」っていうと
コンピュータを使って計算してみると「毎秒五億」です。

Today we experienced a 500 Meg+ per second DDos attack that is still ongoing.
We have updated our core routers today to battle with the problem.
During this time we experienced unreasonable down time.
We have been in contact with the ISP that is responsible for the attacking computers
and they where less then helpful in the situation,
so we are dealing directly with their BandWidth providers.

2006年6月18日20:35頃より2006年6月19日9:00過ぎ(時間は全て日本時間)
にかけて発生した、２ちゃんねるへの大規模な接続障害の原因は、
２ちゃんねるが使用しているデータセンター(PIE)への外部からの
リクエストの大量送信(いわゆるDDoS attack)に起因するものである旨、
PIEの担当者より連絡が入りました。
このレスを書いている時点(2006年6月19日18:00現在)では、
接続障害は小康状態を保っていますが、下記に引用した担当者からの
連絡内容を読む限り、予断を許さない状況であることに変わりはないようです。
(下記メールでも指摘されているように大量送信および対応作業は現在も
継続中であり、また２ちゃんねるへの接続障害が不規則に発生する可能性があります)
なお、PIEにある２ちゃんねるのサーバ群そのものへの直接的な攻撃は、
私が見る限りでは、現時点まで観察されていないようです。

Our current network status is that we are still being attacked, though
we are entirely online, CoreBD-B is unstable and is rebooting randomly
for an unknown reason. You may see systems go offline and come back on
throughout the night. We will continue working on it in the morning.
